'Life Unexpected' defies the odds and scores a second season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The CW have renewed both ’One Tree Hill’ and ‘Life Unexpected’ for next season.

While it was believed that the network was tossing up between one or the other, it seems both shows mesh well with The CW’s plans for next season.

‘Tree Hill’ and ‘Life’ join previously renewed dramas ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Gossip Girl’, ’90210’, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Supernatural’.

The CW will announce their entire fall line up on Friday, where they’re reportedly set to announce pick ups for the cheerleading dramedy ’Hellcats’, from producer Tom Welling and the ‘La Femme Nikita’ reboot ‘Nikita’, starring Maggie Q.

Other series which are believed to be possible pick ups for next season are the CIA drama ‘Nomads’ and the supernatural drama ‘Betwixed’.
