'Ghost Whisperer' cancelled

'Ghost Whisperer' - CBS' biggest shock cancellation.

A third of CBS’ scripted programming slate has been wiped from the schedule in a stunning pre-upfront move.

According to Variety, ’Ghost Whisperer’, ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’, ‘Accidentally on Purpose’, ‘Cold Case’, ‘Numb3ers’, ‘Miami Medical’ and ‘Gary Unmarried’ have all been cancelled, leaving just a few bubble shows in tact for next season.

The trade publication reports that CBS have renewed ‘Medium’ and ‘Rules of Engagement’ amongst all the cancellations.

CBS will officially announce their fall season line up on Wednesday (Thursday local time), where it’s expected to pick up several new series including the revived ‘Hawaii 5-O’ starring Australia’s Alex O’Loughlin, the ‘Criminal Minds’ spin-off, the Jim Belushi legal drama ‘Defenders’, the Tom Selleck police drama ‘Blue Bloods’  and the plus-sized comedy ‘Mike and Molly’.

Check back on Thursday for more CBS announcements.

Finally, Entertainment Weekly reports that ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and ‘Old Christine’ might still have some hope. It’s believed that ABC might pick up one or possibly both series for mid-season. Any announcements will be made later this week.
