Secret J.J. Abrams trailer leaked online

If J.J. Abrams wasn’t busy enough producing ‘Fringe’, ‘Undercovers’, ‘Mission Impossible IV’ and the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ sequel, a teaser trailer for his next directorial project ‘Super 8’ has been released and is screening before ‘Iron Man 2′ in the States.
Paramount Pictures is hoping the trailer will replicate the same viral fanfare and interest that the first ‘Cloverfield’ trailer generated when it debuted in front of ‘Transformers’ back in 2007.
A bootleg version of the 1-minute and 30-second teaser has already been leaked on YouTube.
‘Super 8′ was written and is set to be directed by Abrams, who’ll also produce the film alongside Bryan Burk and Steven Spielberg.
The Amblin Entertainment/Bad Robot project commences production this September for a mid-2011 release.
The official website is also now online at super8-movie.com.
Meanwhile, Paramount have also confirmed Brad Bird (‘The Incredibles’, ‘Ratatouille‘, ‘The Iron Giant’) as director for ‘Mission Impossible IV’, which has been pushed back from May 27, 2011 to December 16, 2011.
Empire magazine spoke to star Tom Cruise, who similarly confirmed the news that Bird was taking on the director’s seat, as rumors had suggested.
“We’re working with Brad right now,” said Cruise. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it but everything’s signed… Brad is doing it.”
Adding “we’re having a lot of fun. I like working with people I just love hanging out with, you get to hang out and laugh and talk stories and movies and technology: what are we going to do?”
With ‘Undercovers’, ‘Super 8′ and ‘Mission Impossible IV’ all set to commence production over the next few months, it looks to be another busy year for J.J. Abrams.
