Nicole Richie

According to Variety, Nicole Richie is planning a return to television in a new half-hour scripted comedy for ABC.

Richie will play as a professional woman with complicated family relationships and struggling to figure out what role she’ll take as her life and her family evolve.

In addition to starring, Richie will also receive a producing credit having had the initial idea for the show.

Daisy Gardner (‘Californication’) is set to pen the pilot; with Warren Bell (”According to Jim’) and Jamie Tarses as executive producers; and Impression Entertainment’s Michael Baum as producer.

Richie recently guest starred in an episode of NBC’s ‘Chuck’, as Sarah’s high school nemesis turned super spy. Following the first series of ‘The Simple Life’ with Paris Hilton, Richie also appeared in episodes of ’8 Simple Rules’, ‘American Dreams’ and ‘Eve’.
