David Boreanaz has come down with the flu, causing production on 20th Century Fox series ‘Bones’ to be shut down.

While it can’t be confirmed whether Boreanaz, who called in sick on Monday, has swine flu, showrunner Hart Hanson posted on his Twitter feed that the series would not shoot due to the virus.

“First time in Bones history we are shut down from production,” said Hanson. “Damn swine flu! That’s gonna cut into Christmas hiatus.”

A rep for the show said production on the series is expected to resume Tuesday.

“David is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene. We hope to resume production tomorrow.”
